In the 1891 census, Jesse was living at Compton Place, St Mary Church, Torquay. His father was William Babbage, a Mason, born in 1846 at Stokeinteignhead, Devon. His mother was Harriett Babbage nee Campion who was born in 1849 at Ilsington, Devon.

In the 3rd quarter of 1907, Jesse married Emily Amelia Rendle which was registered at Newton Abbot.
Jesse and Emily Amelia had a daughter on the 1st of December 1909, Doris Irene Babbage.
Doris Irene Babbage was baptised on the 30th of January 1910 at Babbacombe.

The family was now living at 30, All Saints Road, Babbacombe.
In the 1911 census, Jesse, Emily Amelia, and Doris Irene were living at 22, Compton Place, St Mary Church, Devon.
In the 1918 electoral register, the family was living at 2, Petitor Road, St Mary Church, Devon.

Emily Amelia Babbage married William D H Witchell in the 3rd quarter of 1931 at Poplar, London.
Doris Irene Babbage married George S Carder in the third quarter of 1932 which was registered at Newton Abbot.
George Samuel Carder

George Samuel Rosamund Carder was born on the 15th of September 1907 and baptised on the 9th of January 1908. His parents were Edwin George and Emma Jane Carder. They were living at 116, Alexandra Road, Plymouth. Edwin was a Shipwright with the Royal Navy.
In the 1939 register, Doris and George were living at 30, Pines Road, Paignton, Devon. George was a Builders Carpenter.
George Samuel R Carder died in the 1st quarter of 1945 aged just 38 years.
On the 2nd of December 1946, Doris flew from Shannon, Ireland, aboard aircraft NC 90902, to New York, arriving on the 6th of January 1947. Doris was destined for 14g, Riverside Drive, Ontario, Weston, Canada.
Her last permanent address was 5, Quarry Terrace, Paignton, Devon.
Doris Irene Carder married Nigel W Flukes in the third quarter of 1967 at Totnes, Devon.
Doris Irene Flukes died on the 7th of September 1996 at The Cumberland Complex, Braddons Road Hill East, Torquay, Devon.
